LOCATIONS
The Ebony Tower
This mysterious room is only accessible when Dreamers first arrive to the Dreamscape. You will wake to find your own bed situated in the middle of this space made entirely of black marble tile, with windows so broad that carefree pink clouds float through unimpeded. It’s unclear how high up it is, as the base of the tower is not visible from anywhere in the Dreamscape. Once you exit the heavy double doors and step out onto the grassy hill that faces the Torn Oak, the doors shut behind you, and vanish. Once that occurs, you cannot return without the Outsider’s assistance, though there isn’t much there to return for.
The Torn Oak
A large, old, bleach-white oak tree stands in the middle of the Dreamscape, its gnarled white branches hosting hundreds and hundreds of pale blue leaves and deep blue, perfectly round fruit. The fruits have a strange horizontal crease in the middle, though, and when you get too close, the crease parts to reveal that the fruit is actually a familiar, unsettling eye.

The trunk of the oak tree is ripped in half, bark frayed and wood splintered, and yet for some reason, the top part of the tree is suspended in midair as if the tree was undamaged, and on the stump below, there will sometimes be a heavy wooden door.

This is the home of the Outsider. What you will find within is subject to their whims. Dare you to enter?
The Glass Lake
Surrounding the Torn Oak is a sprawling field of trees and grass, all ice-white against a royal purple sky. Not too far off from the home of the Outsider lays a beautiful sky blue lake, adrift with pink and white water lilies, shrouded by a pale weeping willow tree, and home to beautiful rainbow koi. The strangest part of this lake, however, is not its appearance, but its unusual property of being completely walkable on the surface, as if the whole thing were made of glass.

This serene lake has the odd quality of making whoever is there feel as if they and those with them feel completely and utterly as though they are the only people in the universe, and that time is standing still. No one will ever intrude on you here.
Office of Dream Administration
➽Enter the ODA➽
At the end of an ink-black river that runs between a pair of high desert mesas, there is a building that is constructed seamlessly melded into the two cliffsides, as if the building was not only made for the ledges, but the stone faces were made for it as well. You must ride a gondola through the canyon to reach the entrance, but the narrow river will guide you directly into the abstract building, bumping you gently against the sheer white docking platform. Inside, grooves on the wall form an impossible fountain for crystal clear water to run through at gravity-defying angles, even clinging to the zen-garden-like indentations. This structure frames a sleek black front desk, where one of the Daydreams working there as a secretary waves to you, helpfully pointing to a sign that will guide you where you need to go.

If you have questions about how the Dreamscape works, would like to redeem your feathers for Wishes, or need a problem addressed, here is the place to do it.
Your Nimbus Cloud
Each dreamer is given their own personal space to call home in the form of a pocket dimension inside of a fluffy pink cloud that floats above the Dreamscape. As you pass through the outer layer of cotton-like vapor, you pass into a tiny world all your own, with nearly complete control over how it looks. Certain sentimental personal effects will have to be wished for, of course, and you can't take anything other than clothes out of it, but that aside, the only limit to what it can be is your imagination.

But how do you reach it? That's easy--- you take the escalator. In the middle of a field just a short walk from the Torn Oak, there is a strange, disembodied escalator that seems to lead up ridiculously high and connect to nothing. However, when you take it, you will find yourself walking on an invisible pathway in the sky, the ground far beneath you. From there it's just a matter of walking to your own cloud. From the outside, they have no defining features, but somehow you'll just know which one is yours when you see it.
The Barren Freeway
The best way to find others, or things to do, is to go to the city a short distance away. But the way there is a rather eerie trek. It looks like a highway overpass over a large desert, but it is entirely barren of any kind of vehicle. Far away, there are ice capped mountains that never seem to draw any closer. The sun, moon, and stars all hang silently overhead at the same time, and the lighting never changes from that of the blue hour of sunrise. Billowing, enormous red jellyfish float sluggishly past above you.
The Twisted City
Easily the most normal-looking area of the Dreamscape, this place, for the most part, looks like an average urban city in an indistinguishable point in time and location in the world. It has a fairly normal day/night cycle, which is unique for the Dreamscape, and has a host of mysterious shops and restaurants that never seem to be in the same place. The food is free, though it’s debatable whether or not you actually need to eat, and the shops accept feathers as currency, and they’re all run by people who you would swear look familiar but whose features you forget the moment you look away. Outside, iridescent bubbles fill the gaps between the buildings, obscuring the sky but letting in plenty of light, and throughout the city you will find objects in shapes and textures that seem a little off, such as brick armchairs that are still cushy when you sit in them.
The Submarineway
Another great way to travel, the Submarineway runs under the city and looks like a fairly normal subway, except for the fact that just outside the windows of your cab, you see sapphire sea water filled with life. Enjoy your ride to any of the dozens of stations throughout the Twisted City as sharks and schools of herring swim past you. This is the fastest way to get from the entrance to the city at the end of the Barren Freeway and to the Jet River that will take you to the Office of Dream Administration.
Marrow Isle
If you follow the Jet River all the way out to sea and follow the dark, choppy waves straight onwards, you will eventually reach a small island covered in rocky cliffs and dark, towering pines, where it is perpetually autumn and always the golden hour of sunset. The island's main feature is a sprawling, aging cemetery that takes up the entirety of the largest cliffside. It is also home to Pumpkin Hollow, a charming hamlet full of Tudor buildings and cobblestone streets, occupied entirely by friendly, dancing skeletons! The Isle was added to the dream for the Outsider's Halloween celebrations, and features some whimsical spooks as well as more dangerous locations, such as the pine forest where a dangerous doppelganger lurks, and a cave of whispering nightmares. The most perilous of the island's features, however, was the Circus of Frights, which has since burned down. The remains of the carnival carnage can be seen off to the west of the village.
The Enchanted Forest
Nestled between the Torn Oak and the Glass Lake is a beautiful woodland, densely populated with pine and white-barked birch. Home to all number of fairy and trickster, this forest has a million tricks up its sleeve, from stairs to nowhere that connect dreamers with the memories of others, to several species of magical mushrooms. Watch your step!
Mount Magpie
Located deep within the Enchanted Forest, Mount Magpie can be seen looming well above the rest of the Dreamscape, its peak visible from most angles overtop of the Torn Oak. Due to its stature, the peak of the mountain is always decidedly cooler than the rest of the forest, and the mountain is often capped with snow regardless of the time of year. When the weather up there is warmer, the White Stag Lodge is great for a relaxing woodland retreat with unrivaled views, but when there is snow, the ski slopes there are available for use. If you’re lucky, you may also sneak a glance at the mysterious and magical Frostfound Castle--- a palace of ice inhabited by snow people, only visible when there is snow on the mountain.
The Everwinter Snowglobe
The product of a popularity contest hosted by visiting iconic weather spirits, Snow Miser and Heat Miser, the Everwinter Snowglobe is Snow Miser’s prize, which now benefits the Dreamscape! An enormous crystal dome off Exit 1 of the Barren Freeway, the snowglobe contains a frozen lake for ice skating, a festive winter bazaar full of charming trinkets and cold-weather treats, and enchanting sleigh rides through a forest blanketed by snow. There is a rather ominous crack on the top, but it doesn’t appear to impact anything. This location is immune to outside weather conditions and will always have snow.
Slice of Eden
A stunning botanical garden created as a date location for Valentine’s Day, this beautiful multi-story greenhouse covered in golden filigree stands between the Torn Oak and the Glass Lake. It features a wide array of themed areas, such as an English tea garden, an Ancient Greek bath house surrounded by lush flowers and olive trees, splendid fruit orchards, rolling meadows with running creeks, a tropical oasis, a zen garden, and more. It remains a choice destination for social outings, both romantic and not, and a breath of fresh, floral air.
Starlight Cathedral
Located on the opposite side of the Torn Oak from the Slice of Eden botanical garden, the Starlight Cathedral is only a cathedral in the sense of its architectural style--- unless you consider space a religious experience. Features regal mosaic floors, flying buttresses, stained glass windows, vaulted ceilings, and a built-in observatory that can display its findings on the ceilings and walls, creating a breathtaking ballroom where you can dance under the stars.
HUE&ME
A newer fixture of Twisted City nightlife, this dance club has a retro feel to it with its upbeat NuDisco soundtrack. Serves beverages with and without alcohol and has the unique effect of making everything look painted in rainbow colors--- including you! A little loud, but a great place to cut loose in technicolor. Has a designated Submarineway stop in case you party too hard and need a safe way out of the city.
Blackheart Bar & Grill
Another of the fixed locations in the Twisted City, this was originally a Valentine’s fixture intended to house an anti-Valentine’s party. Outside of that context, it still retains an edgy, pub-like atmosphere with billiards, card tables, TVs, and a full bar and restaurant.
Ember Hollow
Wished for by Night Sky, this treehouse-only village strung together with rope bridges is a replica of her home that is located in the Enchanted Forest. Completely concealed, each potential visitor is vetted by the Wild Wardens guarding the village, only approved for entry if they approach with friendly intentions. Once given the green light, climb the ladder and enjoy the unbeatable view and a host of delightful artisan shops.
Little Inkopolis
Wished for by Pearl Houzuki, this is a replica of the main downtown area of Inkadia’s capital city, Inkopolis. A bustling town full of land-adapted sea life, this ultra-modern hub of Inkadian life oozes with unique ocean-centric culture that is steeped heavily in music, street fashion, and a very unusual sport. Pearl has compiled a handy informational pamphlet that is handed out to everyone who comes into town that goes into depth about the combat sports, concerts, and shops you can find here. Located off the Barren Freeway on Exit 2.
Blood Moon Library
Wished for by Lioriley and Astarion, this bastion of knowledge stands proudly at a fixed point in the Twisted City and has a designated Submarineway stop. It houses texts of all genres from a massive variety of worlds. The Librarian, who seems to shapeshift like the other buildings in the City, can fetch a copy of any book you’ve ever read upon request, and the austere structure proudly houses numerous cozy study corners, work desks, and a magically-silenced reading lounge for when you really need to get something done.
Rainbow Road
Wished for by Princess Peach and Lucas, this unusual venue features stadium seating with jumbo TVs and a concession stand, an enormous, floating, neon rainbow, 6 lane track that wraps around the entire Dreamscape, and a rather generous parking lot full of rentable cars that range from standard drag racing vehicles to legendary pop culture icons. Used for scenic joyriding during the day and high-octane racing after dark. The stadium entrance, track entrance, and parking area are all accessible from a floating platform on the same invisible pathway used to access Nimbus Clouds. Feel free to pull over on Lover’s Lane with your beau for a nice view and a little privacy!
CB Ranch
Wished for by John Rambo, this idyllic slice of American Pie is a replica of his family property in Arizona and can be found on the far side of the hill that stands opposite the Torn Oak. This dry but charming dude ranch is home to a slightly shabby but homey ranch house, paddocks full of well-trained horses, a few scenic places to walk, and a rather mysterious storm cellar worth asking John about. If you stumble upon the small graveyard on the property, you’re welcome to visit so long as you mind your manners, and the horses are free to ride for anyone who treats them with respect.
Crash Town
Wished for by Radley, this Wild West themed town offers yet another serving of vintage Americana from Exit 3 of the Barren Freeway. With plank sidewalks, dusty roads, and boxy buildings with hand-painted signage, one might almost assume they’d stepped onto the set of a John Wayne movie, if not for the neon-lit retro diner on the corner. Inside you can find an arcade, a jukebox, a lounge, and a dining room that serves a menu of classics. While the diner is the primary draw, and a great place to hang out with friends and play a few games, some other sights worth seeing include a jagged mountain just outside of town and a mission-style Spanish villa.
Ambrosia Lounge
Wished for by Megaera (with help from former-Dreamer Taako), this underground dining establishment is a replica of the lounge attached to the House of Hades and can only be accessed from a set of stairs behind a door marked with a skull in the Twisted City. Surprisingly not very spooky despite its death-themed motif, the lounge is decorated with bright jewel-tones alongside rich, dark stone architecture and offers a menu of underworld-themed specialty cocktails and unique Greek dishes. Oddly, there is also a weekly “Disco Saturday” event. Whether the establishment will use the nice, reasonable standard disco ball or the hideous, unnecessary skull-shaped one is a bit of a crap shoot.
